At a whopping 48 pages, Jam Jam incorporates cartoon jams from various artists some from Durban, the majority from Cape Town. It’s an experiment in what the sequential arts are capable of. To see so many South African artists in one place certainly is exciting, and all the more so that a lot of the work was drawn on the fly. It serves as a handbook for how to jam yourself, too, with the inclusion of a ‘how to’ in the opening page.
