The Outline Project Comic is the culmination of an intensive Creating Comics Workshop designed, created, and run by Moray Rhoda from It’s A Moray Productions, a creative company. Moray brought his years of expertise gained by producing comics such as SECTOR, Velocity, Igubu Anthology, The Li’l Five, and other books to designing a course that teaches artists the processes of creating comics.
The Outline Project resurrects a previous comic anthology which followed a similar format of multiple artists and multiple stories. The participating artists to this version of The Outline Project received training over two months in 2025 in all aspects of the comic creation process from ideation, writing, planning, layout, and the production of artwork to create their short stories.
All artwork was done on paper with traditional art methods and the artists were encouraged to explore their own unique art expression. Creating a comic is a great achievement for any artist and hopefully The Outline Project will be the first of many stories by these talnted artists.
The Creating Comics Workshop was supported by the Department of Arts, Sport and Culture, The South African Creative Industries Incubator, and Comic Con Africa, and is facilitated by It’s A Moray Productions.
